ST. LOUIS – Federal agents arrested a Mexican national in the St. Louis area on Monday approximately two weeks after being indicted on child sex crimes.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri announced that Giovanni Falcon, 40, was indicted on Feb. 26 with transferring obscene material to a minor and coercion and enticement of a minor.

The indictment alleges that from July 26, 2024, to Aug. 12, 2024, Falcon exposed his genitals to a minor on the internet. It also alleged that Falcon coerced a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity between Jan. 1, 2024, and Aug. 12, 2024.

Prosecutors filed a motion to have Falcon detained until trial, saying he poses a flight risk since he’s not in the country legally.

If convicted, the coercion charge is punishable by 10 years to life imprisonment, along with a possible $250,000 fine. The transfer of obscene material charge carries a 10-year prison term and a similar fine.

Falcon, who has a University City address, appeared in court on March 10 and pleaded not guilty.
