COLE COUNTY, Mo. – A mid-Missouri father and a Florida man are facing child sex crime charges. Prosecutors allege the father allowed the Florida man to date his underage daughter, helped him move into his Cole County home and sleep in his daughter’s room, and provided the man with condoms.

The Cole County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Travis Kalchbrenner, 31, with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, second-degree statutory rape, second-degree statutory sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse, and fourth-degree child molestation.

Frederick Copping, 47, was charged with child abuse, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, accessory to first-degree rape, accessory to first-degree sodomy, accessory to second-degree statutory rape, accessory to second-degree statutory sodomy, accessory to first-degree sexual abuse, and accessory to fourth-degree child molestation.

According to online court documents obtained by FOX 2 News, the crimes occurred between Jan. 27, 2025, and March 14, 2025. The daughter’s age was not disclosed

Kalchbrenner and Copping are being held without bond at the Cole County Jail. They’re both due in court on Friday, March 21, for counsel status hearings.
