MISSOURI — A new Missouri bill would allow homeschooled kids to take part in extracurricular activities at public schools.
According to Senate Bill 63, sponsored by Sen. Ben Brown (R-Washington), the bill would let students join the activities offered at their assigned school district or charter school.
Additionally, the school district or charter school can establish an attendance policy and requirements for students to participate in additional instruction or coursework related to the extracurricular.
In order for a homeschooled student to qualify, the bill states the student must be receiving education at a Family Paced Education school. If the bill passes, it would take effect on Aug. 28.
