KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Super Bowl wagers continue to pile up just a few days before the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles face off.
The newest bet has been placed between Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.
Gov. Kehoe offered up Missouri-grown beef and an assortment of Kansas City staples includding Gates BBQ sauce, Scott’s Kitchen BBQ Sauce and Rub, and Chase Candy Company Cherry Mash.
Gov. Shapiro wagered some philly cheesesteaks from Steve’s Cheesteaks and soft pretzels from Miller’s Twist in Philadelphia. The two placed their bets with videos on social media.
“I look forward to enjoying some Philly cheesesteaks from Governor Shapiro after the Chiefs bring home the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday,” Kehoe said.
Kehoe also ordered the Missouri State Capitol dome to shine red and gold on Friday to honor the Chiefs.
The dome will shine red and gold from sunset to sunrise through Sunday, Feb. 9.
“Missourians and fans across Chiefs Kingdom are once again celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs making it to the Super Bowl on this Red Friday,” Kehoe said.
“We’re proud to call the Kansas City Chiefs Missouri’s team, and light our state’s Capitol red and gold as the Chiefs seek a Super Bowl three-peat this Sunday.”
