BRANSON, Mo. – For a second consecutive year, USA Today named one Missouri theme park as the best in the nation.
Silver Dollar City in Branson earned the title in the TODAY 10Best competition, topping other competitors including Disney, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND, and Dollywood. According to Silver Dollar City, industry experts selected the nominees, and the public then had a four-week voting period to make their choice.
The announcement came on the same day as the park’s 64th anniversary.
Beyond the category, the 1880s theme park also came in second for best theme park entertainment with their band, The Rivertown Ramblers. The holiday season has brought in six titles for the best theme park holiday event named by USA Today.
“We are so thankful for our loyal, enthusiastic fans who visit us and vote for us,” Brad Thomas, president of the Silver Dollar City Company, said in a statement. “Our citizens strive to create unforgettable fun for folks. Their hospitality provides families an escape from daily routines and the opportunity to grow closer together as they experience our record-breaking rides, one-of-a-kind shows, award-winning festivals, homemade food and authentic culture in this breathtaking mountain setting.”
With over 40 rides within the park, it draws around 2 million guests every year, according to USA Today. Silver Dollar City is also home to the record-breaking Time Traveler coaster, which is allegedly the fastest, steepest, and tallest spinning coaster in the world.
