ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A new real estate report from RealtyHop identified the “most expensive” ZIP codes in every U.S. state, offering a glimpse into the communities with premium price tags.
In Missouri, the priciest ZIP code can be found in St. Louis County, and it’s the only ZIP code in the state in which the median home price exceeds $1 million.
According to RealtyHop, the most expensive ZIP code in Missouri is 63124. This ZIP code primarily accounts for the City of Ladue and partially the City of University City.
The median price tag for a home in the 63124 ZIP code, according to RealtyHop, is $1,018,500.
These findings shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, given another real estate study from earlier this year that revealed Ladue as one of the top 25 U.S. cities “where the ultra-wealthy live.” That study determined that there were 3,400 households in Ladue with an average household income of nearly $385,000.
For the last five years, RealtyHop has published annual rankings of America’s “most expensive” ZIP codes, sparking interest among serious buyers and curious onlookers. A research team with RealtyHop conducted a thorough analysis of home listing prices in each state, then determined three zip codes in each state with the highest median home listing price.
In Missouri, along with 63124, the two other ZIP codes that ranked just behind were 63131 and 63073. Both of those two ZIP codes are also in the St. Louis region, primarily covering Town and Country and Franklin County. The median-priced homes in 63131 were $925,000, while the median-priced homes in 63073 were $869,000.
According to Realty Hop, the wealthiest ZIP code in America was 94027, accounting for Atherton, California, near San Francisco. Median home prices there topped $7.75 million.
