ST. LOUIS – Mizzou star basketball player Mark Mitchell will grace the front of a brand new potato chip available in stores across Missouri.

Haystack Sourcing Solutions announced Sunday that they have partnered with the Mizzou star to launch “Mark Mitchell’s Spicy Queso Hoops,” a new chip that will feature ‘hoops’ as a fried onion ring but with a unique Spicy Queso flavor. The new bag of chips will be available in all Missouri Schnucks stores, as well as top convenience stores

Mitchell, originally from Kansas City, transferred to Mizzou after playing two years as a starter at Duke University. So far this season, Mitchell has led the Tigers to a 14-3 record, averaging 13.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.

“I’m so excited for our fans to try my great-tasting Spicy Queso “Hoops”!” Mitchell said. “Being able to walk into a store and find myself on a snack is something I never dreamed of! Once Tiger fans try the unique spicy & tangy flavor, they’ll think it’s a Slam Dunk!

Mitchell’s Spicy Queso Hoops joins Luther Burden’s Old Vienna Honey BBQ Red Hot Riplets as one of the only Mizzou athletes to have their own Mizzou-themed snack. A variety of other Mizzou athletes have appeared on various food products as well, such as the “Tiger Tracks” ice cream, “Pizza with the Crew” frozen pizza, and more.

“We knew we wanted to do something with Mizzou’s basketball program,” Haystack Sourcing Solutions President Ken Dubinsky said. “With Mark coming in so highly touted, he was a great choice to be the next Tiger to have his own snack. We appreciate Schnucks being a great partner, as they have been on all the Mizzou products.”
