ST. LOUIS – MoDOT is looking for input on possible plans to help improve a very busy corridor in the city of St. Louis.

MoDOT is looking to improve the central corridor along Interstate 64 between Kingshighway and Jefferson. The organization has significant plans for the corridor but officials want to hear from residents before moving forward.

The open house-style meeting is set to take place Tuesday and is part of an ongoing study for the I-64 central corridor called ‘Future64: Community. Transportation. Together.’

MoDOT says that insight from the community has been and continues to be an important element of how projects like this move forward. There seem to be three different concepts being considered at this point.

MoDOT says that it wants to make sure that bridges and interchanges in the area are configured in the best possible ways for modern travel. Those kinds of issues are among the things being considered in these conceptual plans.

MoDOT officials say that engineers and planners will be attending the open house Tuesday to talk about the recommended corridor improvement options. In addition, MoDOT also plans to share the information currently available on planned bridge work along I-64 over Vandeventer. The initiative is currently set to start in 2027.

The open house meeting is set to take place Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at 18 Rails inside the City Foundry, located at 3730 Foundry Way. There will be no formal presentations at the event. Residents can come anytime during the three-hour window and make their opinions known.
