VALLEY PARK, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation reopened Highway 141 at Interstate 44 on Wednesday afternoon.

The Meramec River’s predicted crest in Valley Park prompted the closure of the road earlier this week. Since then, floodwaters have receded.

MoDOT closed the intersection Monday after it became inaccessible due to flooding from the weekend’s heavy rain event.

River levels have dropped faster than expected, prompting crews to open southbound 141 as soon as it was safe.
