FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo – The Missouri Department of Transportation announced that it will close Route D and Route WW bridge over Interstate 44 in both directions for a week due to emergency repairs.

The bridge closed on Feb. 16 after a semi-truck, carrying an oversized load, crashed into it. Because of that incident, Route D and Route WW overpasses are to remain closed for at least a week, according to MoDOT.

MoDOT encourages motorcyclists and drivers to ride alternate directions, such as Route 185 or North/South Outer Service roads, to travel around the bridge closure.

MoDOT noted unsureness regarding the bridge’s opening, as further inspections remain pivotal to determine the actual extent of repairs needed.

However, it anticipates providing the status of the repairs soon, and further information regarding MoDOT’s traveler information map can be found here.
