ST. LOUIS — Damage reports continue to come in as we’ve finally seen things in daylight. The National Weather Service is sending out two teams to begin surveying the damage today. They will focus on areas where there is structural damage. We will not have a final count of confirmed tornadoes until their surveys are completed.
As the storm threat moves southeast of our region we will have some showers build back in later today. Winds won’t be as bad as Friday but still gusty. Temperatures will climb into the mid-60s, and clouds will increase. Showers will mainly impact areas from the metro and points southeast later this morning into the afternoon.
An additional area of showers will wrap around the back side of the storm system and move through our area from west to east, maybe mixing with a few wet snowflakes as precipitation comes to an end.
It’ll be breezy and cooler for Sunday with temperatures only in the low 50s. Skies should gradually clear out. By Monday temperatures will return to the upper 60s to near 70.
For those traveling south/southeast for Spring Break — there is an extreme risk of severe weather from the central Gulf states and into the Tennessee Valley. Numerous significant tornadoes are expected this afternoon and evening.
