ST. LOUIS – We still haven’t finished cleaning up from the last storm, but Mother Nature will be sending more snow our way into Friday morning.

While this storm won’t be as major as the Sunday/Monday storm, with much of the area still snowpacked, it’s expected to be a tough morning commute.

A clear, very cold start Thursday, single digits to low teens out the door. Increasing clouds in the afternoon, with highs near 32 F.

A storm system is lifting out of Mexico and will move across the South over the next 48 hours. The St. Louis region will be on the northern edge of this storm and is likely to see snow starting after 10 p.m. Thursday through about noon on Friday. This will be all snow this time around.

The heaviest snow, 4 to 6 inches, will be across far southern Missouri and Illinois, but southern parts of Reynolds, Iron, and Madison Counties in MO are included in this zone. North of there, but south of metro St. Louis, we expect a general 2 to 4 inch snow along and south of a line from Sullivan, MO, to Festus over to near Salem, IL. For all of metro STL and along and north of I-70, this looks like a 1 to 2 inch snow.

Snow moves out Friday afternoon. The weather pattern gets quieter for Saturday and beyond. I can’t rule out a few snow flurries Sunday night.
