FERGUSON, Mo. – A North Carolina man was killed in an overnight crash in Ferguson.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report, the crash happened just after 3 a.m Sunday on West Florissant Avenue, just north of Canfield Drive.

The highway patrol said a 2017 Dodge Journey was traveling northbound on West Florissant when the driver made an unsafe U-turn across another northbound lane, and into the path of a 2003 Yamaha YZF-R1.

The Yamaha struck the left side of the Dodge Journey and the motorcyclist was ejected.

The motorcyclist, identified as Jarawn E. Jones-Wilson of Tarawa Terrace, North Carolina, was pronounced dead at the scene just after 3:10 a.m. Jones-Wilson was 23.

Jones-Wilson was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the crash report.
