ST. LOUIS — A few showers are moving across our southwestern counties, mainly from Dent eastward to Madison counties. As an upper-level wave moves across the region this weekend, it will bring multiple rounds of showers and non-severe storms. Mostly cloudy, with highs in the mid-80s this afternoon.
Those showers and storms will develop and build northward this afternoon and continue through at least early evening, especially along and south of the I-70 corridor. Localized heavy downpours are the main concern with storms that develop.
A lot of this activity will diminish around sunset but we’ll keep a chance for showers in the forecast overnight, especially east of the river. Showers and storms will be possible again Sunday afternoon. Hot temperatures return next week, with highs climbing into the mid-90s and heat index readings reaching 105. Spot afternoon storm chances most afternoons.
