ST. LOUIS – Dangerous heat Tuesday has highs close to 100 and peak afternoon heat indices (or what feels like temperature) of 105 to 110. A heat advisory has been issued for Tuesday.

Punching into that hot and more humid air is a cold front. Thunderstorms will develop to our north and drop south with that front.

While some scattered storms will be possible in the evening, a complex of thunderstorms overnight will bring the threat for strong to severe storms and some heavy rainfall. Storms may produce damaging winds and hail, especially north of I-70 in both MO and IL.

By late morning Wednesday, any rain is out of here. The storms will bring us a break from the big heat Wednesday and Thursday before we heat back up again Friday and Saturday.
