ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – After a St. Louis woman was found dead last week along Old Highway 141 in Fenton, investigators with the St. Louis County Police Department are piecing together the circumstances that led to the woman’s death.

According to Sgt. Tracy Panus, a county police spokeswoman, the department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons was called to the 300 block of South Old Highway 141 on March 20 after a vehicle was found in a wooded area just off the roadway.

The person in the vehicle, Nicole Jung, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 45. Prior reports stated she was from Fenton. Police said she resided in Tower Grove South.

Panus said police eventually determined Jung had crashed her car just after 6 p.m. on Feb. 28. Jung was believed to be speeding at the time.

Jung’s injuries are consistent with a car crash, police said. However, an official cause of death has not been announced, pending the results of toxicology tests.
