ST. LOUIS – Lars Nootbaar and Nolan Arenado homered as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Minnesota Twins, 5-3, on Opening Day.

Sonny Gray earned the victory, limiting the Twins to two runs over five innings. Ryan Helsley picked up his first save of the season. Brendan Donovan and Ivan Herrera each had a pair of hits.

The game was delayed by nearly an hour and a half due to afternoon showers.
