ST. LOUIS – Surveillance images captured a white Dodge Ram barreling into the St. Louis Tax Pros building on Natural Bridge in the early morning Thursday.
Officers from North County Police Cooperative discovered the crime while patrolling in Beverly Hills.
Two suspects are believed to be involved in the crime, which was centered around stealing an ATM with approximately $8,000 inside it, according to police.
Johnny Harris, a former customer of the business, said he is hopeful the owner can quickly make repairs so they don’t lose out on business during the busiest time of the year.
“I was just shocked to see it when I pulled up,” Harris said.
North County Police Cooperative Det. Benjamin Santoyo hopes anyone with information will contact them at 314-499-6093.
“Our people in our communities need to feel safe, and that’s what we’re out here working on, and I ask for the public’s help in that,” Santoyo said.
Santoyo said ATM thefts have become the focus of investigators in the St. Louis area a few months following similar crimes. He noted that the cooperative efforts of multiple agencies led to suspects in those cases being arrested.
“Looks like now we’re going to have another uptick, so we’re preparing for that, and our detectives are aggressively investigating,” Santoyo said.
