ST. LOUIS – Thursday is bringing another day of warm temperatures and sunshine, but also with a side of haze.

If you look up outside, it is quite noticeable as smoke lingers around in the skies. This smoke is coming from several different fires from beyond the viewing area, and even coming from other parts of the country and being carried through the wind.

Some conservation areas across Missouri and Illinois have been conducting controlled burns, while there are also smaller fires elsewhere.

It’s possible that dust could also be picked up in the wind from the smoke plumes and also brought into the viewing area. Much of the region is under a wind advisory, lasting through late Friday night into the early hours of Saturday.

FOX 2 meteorologists say that as the smoke is in the higher part of the atmosphere, it shouldn’t impact those with breathing issues.
