JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. — A 49-year-old semi-truck driver died Monday morning after rear-ending another semi-truck on Interstate 55.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 7:18 a.m. on I-55 north of the Danby Road overpass.

The 49-year-old driver was in a 2021 Freightliner Cascadia, and he struck the rear end of a 2020 Peterbilt 389 driven by a 50-year-old man.

The 49-year-old man was taken to the Jefferson County examiner before being taken to the St. Louis County morgue on Monday. The 50-year-old suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital in an ambulance.
