ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. – There were no injuries after a house was destroyed and another was left damaged overnight Wednesday morning after two fires in Cahokia Heights.
The first fire took place on Parklane Drive a little before 2 a.m. Officials say neighbors noticed the fire after hearing a dog that was tied up outside barking. People did live in the house but were not home at the time of the fire. The dog was also not injured in the fire.
The second fire took place on Harvest Avenue around 3 a.m. overnight Wednesday morning. Officials say that a car in the driveway caught fire and did some damage to the outside of the house. There were no injuries reported in the fire.
