ST. LOUIS COUNTY – The Animal Protective Association of Missouri in Olivette welcomed a ram named Isaac Bruce into their shelter last week after it was found by police.
The APA shared on Facebook that the ram temporarily called the shelter home and told FOX 2 Bruce was found by Overland Police in north county on Friday.
According to the shelter, police had a discussion with Bruce’s former caretaker regarding a permit to keep the ram, but the permit could not be obtained in the area. The owner voluntarily surrendered him to the APA to ensure well-being and compliance with local regulations.
On Tuesday, Bruce was adopted and is now living on a farm.
The APA shelter is currently competing in the 2024 Wagsie Awards that would grant the adoption center $20,000 to further its mission in finding homes for pets. They are asking the public to vote daily on The Wagsies and Hill’s Pet website until September 26.
