ST. LOUIS – Police are investigating a robbery that took place Monday night in north St. Louis.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the robbery took place around 9:50 p.m. on the 3700 block of North 14th Street in north St. Louis’ Hyde Park neighborhood.

Police say a 34-year-old man told them that he was waiting for a friend when a man driving an unknown black sedan pulled up next to him, approached him with a gun, and told him to empty his pockets.

According to police, the suspect struck the 34-year-old victim in the head with the gun, pulled him out of his car and went through his pocket, taking the victim’s wallet and car keys. Police say the suspect then fled the scene in the black sedan after the incident.

The 34-year-old victim was left suffering from minor injuries following the robbery.
