ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – What was supposed to be a night of celebration on the Fourth of July turned deadly with two separate homicides, leaving two men dead and five others injured. 

Just after 10:15 p.m., St. Louis County Police responded to a shooting in the 10200 block of Valley Dr. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim was attending a heavily attended fireworks gathering when the tragedy occurred.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The violence didn’t stop there. Less than an hour later, around 11:10 p.m., officers from the North County Precinct were dispatched to another shooting in the 1200 block of Lakeview Ave.

Police found another adult male with a gunshot injury. Officials performed life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital as well.

In addition to the fatality, five other adults were injured in the Lakeview shooting. Two of them are currently suffering from life-threatening injuries, while three others are recovering from non-life-threatening wounds.

FOX 2 reached out to St. Louis County Police, who said there is currently no known connection between the shootings.
