ST. LOUIS – Police are searching for several suspects after shots were fired overnight Thursday morning in unincorporated St. Louis County near Florissant.
According to the St. Louis County Police Department, the incident happened a little before 2 a.m. Thursday morning on the 1600 block of Boardwalk Avenue.
Police say the incident occurred when occupants of a residence interrupted four people that were trying to steal their parked car. When the occupants confronted the suspects, police say the suspects started shooting and the occupants returned fire.
According to police, as the suspects attempted to flee the scene in the vehicle they arrived in, the vehicle got stuck in another yard and the suspects fled on foot. Police say the suspects have not yet been located.
No one was hurt by the gunfire, according to police. Authorities towed the vehicle they believed was used by the suspects.
