ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Police are actively searching for 19-year-old Tyrell Cook Jr., who was charged in connection with a deadly gun battle that occurred near a Schnucks in Ferguson in Dec. 2024.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Cook with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, unlawful possession, and unlawful use of a weapon. The charges stem from an incident on Dec. 28 that resulted in the death of Ramone-Kaleb Henderson, who was found dead in the parking lot of a Schnucks grocery store.
According to court documents, Clarence Brown, who was also arrested in connection to the shooting, told police that he went to the Schnucks to trade firearms with Cook. During the exchange, Henderson allegedly attempted to rob Cook at gunpoint, leading to a gun battle in which Henderson was fatally shot.
Investigators reported that Cook exited a vehicle and fired shots across the parking lot, hitting several uninvolved cars. Surveillance footage captured the incident, showing both Brown and Cook at the scene.
Cook has been ordered to a cash-only bond of $200,000 upon arrest, per Missouri court records.
