ST. LOUIS – A pre-trial conference is set for today concerning Pam Hupp, who faces charges for the 2011 murder of her friend Betsy Faria in Lincoln County. Faria was fatally stabbed over 50 times in her Troy home. Authorities suggest Hupp was motivated by a life insurance policy. Last month, Hupp waived her initial court appearance, and her attorney entered a not guilty plea for her.

Hupp is currently serving a life sentence for the 2016 murder of 33-year-old Louis Gumpenberger in his O’Fallon, Missouri, home, where she staged the scene to look like self-defense, purportedly to shift suspicion away from herself in the Faria case. Additionally, Hupp is suspected in the death of her mother, who died after falling from a balcony at a senior living community in Fenton on Halloween, 2013.
