ST. LOUIS – We’re watching for areas of fog to develop early this Friday morning. Also, watch for spots where melt water has refrozen overnight. That will be more likely on untreated sidewalks and parking lots, but it can’t be ruled out on roads.
Friday starts sunny, then we see increasing clouds in the afternoon. Breezy temperatures will push well into the 40s. That will be the end of our warmup.
Ahead of a cold front, rain will develop late in the day on Friday and continue into the evening and overnight. Rain is most likely along and south of I-44 in MO and southeast of I-55 in IL.
That rain may end with some wet snowflakes mixed in early Saturday, no accumulation. Wake-up temperatures Saturday will be in the low 30s and then slowly drop throughout the day Saturday.
On Sunday, temperatures remain stable in the 10s, but on Dr. King Day Monday, they will drop into the single digits. Bitter cold Monday and Tuesday before we see some improvement on Wednesday.
The next system to watch for St. Louis arrives either late Wednesday or Thursday. It could mean more snow for St. Louis. Stay tuned.
