ST. LOUIS – We did it…busted a very old record high. Monday’s high was 76 F, breaking the record high for the date of 75 F set in 1890. But, thanks to a cold front, colder air is moving back in this Tuesday morning on gusty north winds.
Cloudy to start Tuesday morning with some clearing in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s. Overnight Tuesday night, as temperatures dip into the mid-30s, our next storm system arrives.
Rain will move in from the southwest in the early morning hours of Wednesday. North of I-70, this could lead to some light accumulating freezing drizzle. Thanks to the warm temps earlier in the week, this will likely be limited to bridges and overpasses where the colder air can get flow both over and under the roadway. But slow down and watch for slick spots.
Rain will build through the day and showers and some storms are possible Wednesday night. Temperatures are expected to keep rising, into the low 50s, overnight, then drop into the 40s where they’ll hold on Thursday.
A chillier day Friday, then more rain looks likely for Saturday.
