ST. LOUIS – Reinvention by Community is launching a grant initiative to empower local residents with resources to address key issues in their area.

The organization, led by residents, teachers, and parents, aims to distribute between $30,000 and $50,000 in grants this year. Community members will decide how these grants are used, with applicants able to receive up to $10,000 in micro-grants depending on the organization’s needs.

“This focus cycle is specifically for children in our community who are facing homelessness,” said Diana Spells of the RBC Committee. “We thought that this is a dire need happening in our community today and that is just our major focus students who are experiencing homelessness.”

Mauri Scott from the RBC Committee emphasized the importance of community-led decision-making, stating, “It’s because we’re a part of the community we’re looking at where we live where we go to church where the students live that gives us a leg up to help them.”

The application process for the grants will run from April 3 through April 16. Reinvention by Community will hold informational Zoom meetings to assist potential applicants.
Interested individuals can find more information about the grant initiative at TheOpportunityTrust.org.

By focusing on children facing homelessness, Reinvention by Community hopes to address urgent needs within the community, empowering residents to create meaningful change through targeted grants.
