ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A board member of the Rockwood School District has resigned after she was accused of stealing.

On March 7, the Ballwin Police Department issued a summons to board member Izzy Imig for stealing at a Target in Ballwin. This came after she was arrested a few days prior at the Chesterfield Target for the same actions.

Police say Imig put over $700 worth of products in bags without scanning them, which included a vacuum cleaner.

Less than a week after the summons were issued, the Rockwood Board of Education announced that Imig had resigned from her position and had decided to not seek re-election. The board released the following statement Thursday that reads, in part:

“We have received notification from Board Director Izzy Imig that she has resigned as a Board Director as of March 11, 2025 for health and personal reasons…please note, with the election only weeks away, it is not possible to remove Ms. Imig’s name from the ballot, but we wanted to inform you of her resignation and withdrawal from the race.

“We respect her privacy and wish her all the best in her future endeavors and we extend our sincere gratitude to Ms. Imig for her service and dedication to the Rockwood School District.”
