ROLLA, Mo. – Royal Canin, a dog food plant in Rolla, Missouri, is expected to shut down later this year.

According to a memo from attorneys Harmon & Davies, P.C., Royal Canin is “pemanently closing” its plant in Rolla this year. It’s anticipated that production will stop on April 18, 2025, and that the facility will close for good on Dec. 31, 2025.

According to a WARN notice from the State of Missouri’s job website, Royal Canin is expected to layoff 85 employees by April 18 and another 20 by December 31, or 105 total.

Royal Canin will move production to other facilities and allow employees in Rolla to explore other opportunities within the company, according to the memo.

Royal Canin has specialized in highly tailored nutritional products for cats and dogs for more than 50 years. Headquartered worldwide in France, the company also has sites in Lewisburg, Ohio and Lebanon, Tennessee.
