ST. LOUIS – The banana ball team, the Savannah Bananas, announced Wednesday morning that their scheduled games for this weekend in St. Louis have been postponed.
The Bananas games against the Party Animals team were originally planned for Friday and Saturday at Busch Stadium. As severe weather and heavy rains are expected throughout the week and into the weekend, the games have been rescheduled for Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19.
According to the Savannah Bananas, tickets already purchased will be valid for the new dates. Ticket holders will receive an email with details.
The Savannah Bananas have accumulated over nine million followers on TikTok for their dance performances, walking on stilts, and backflipping while catching balls.
Banana ball is described as a “fast-paced, action-packed style of baseball with rules that include no bunting, a two-hour time limit, fans catching foul balls for outs, batters stealing first base, and a one-on-one tiebreaker showdown at the end of the game if it’s tied,” their website says.
Tickets are sold out for the St. Louis games, according to the team.
