ST. LOUIS — Schnucks will be bringing more AI-powered shopping carts to stores across the St. Louis region.

The AI smart carts are currently available for use in Twin Oaks, located off Big Bend Boulevard near Route 141, Cottleville off Mid Rivers Mall Dr., and Lindenwood off First Capital Drive.

Schnucks told FOX 2 the smart carts will become available at five additional St. Louis-area stores within the next few months.

  • Arsenal
  • Butler Hill
  • O’Fallon, Missouri
  • Richmond Center
  • Swansea, Missouri

Instacart partnered with the grocery store chain to provide the smart carts, which use computer vision and artificial intelligence to track anything that goes inside the cart.

After a store employee has confirmed the items in the cart match their records, a customer can use payment plans on Schnucks Rewards or the Instacart app to complete their purchase.
