ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A second man faces felony charges in connection with a deadly gun battle last month in Ferguson.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Tyrell Cook Jr., 19, with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, unlawful possession, and unlawful use of a weapon in the investigation.
Authorities issued a warrant for Cook’s arrest on Wednesday, according to online Missouri court records.
Cook and another arrested suspect, Clarence Brown, are accused in the death of Ramone-Kaleb Henderson on Dec. 28, 2024. He was found dead in the parking lot of a Schnucks after what Ferguson police initially described as a gun battle.
According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, Brown told police that he went to the Schnucks to trade firearms with Cook. During the transaction, Henderson allegedly tried to rob Cook at gunpoint. A short time later, shots were fired, and Henderson was fatally shot.
Investigators say that Cook got out of a car and fired shots across the parking lot, some of which struck other uninvolved cars. Surveillance video captured Brown in a different vehicle and Cook on camera as the incident transpired.
Cook has been ordered to a cash-only bond of $200,000 upon arrest, per Missouri court records.
