ST. LOUIS – A second man has been charged in connection with a recent armed robbery at a Central West End apartment.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the robbery took place on Feb. 11 in the 4400 block of Laclede Avenue.
Police said the victim was walking into his apartment around 12:45 a.m. when he was confronted by Tykwan L. Willis, 24, and two other men. The three men wore ski masks and pushed the victim inside the apartment. One of the men announced a robbery while holding a handgun.
Willis and one of his cohorts, identified as Marlon L. Crockett, 26, traded the gun back and forth and held the victim at gunpoint while the third suspect searched the victim’s apartment.
The trio left the apartment with the victim’s Xbox, phone, money, and keys. Police said the victim was not injured during the robbery.
Investigators reviewed footage from Real Time Crime Center and Metro surveillance cameras from the time and location before and after the robbery.
Police said they found footage of Willis and his cohorts, sans masks, after the robbery. Police identified Willis and Crockett based on prior contact with law enforcement.
Willis was arrested on March 26. The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged him with first-degree robbery, first-degree kidnapping, unlawful possession of a firearm, and two counts of armed criminal action. Willis is currently in custody at St. Louis County Jail on separate charges.
Police said Willis has a prior conviction for two counts of first-degree robbery.
