Senate advances bill as deadline approaches

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Lawmakers in Jefferson City have one week to pass a budget and send it to the governor’s desk.

Democrat and Republican Senate leaders offered praise as they approved a roughly $50 Billion spending proposal, but the amount approved by senators is about $2 billion less than what Governor Mike Kehoe had asked for.
