ROCK HILL, Mo. – For three decades, fans have been flocking to Nacho Mamas in Rock Hill for their Tex-Mex menu.
But some ne’er-do-well surprised the restaurant owners by shooting two windows at the popular eatery Sunday night and leaving a mess behind when they went to open for business Monday.
“Started setting up the line and when I came out here to do the tables, I noticed the broken window and the glass all over the floor,” David Woodard, Nacho Mama’s manager, said.
The restaurant was back up and running by the Monday lunch hour.
“It happened overnight about 10:45 from what we can see from the cameras, because that’s when they were disconnected from the roof,” Woodard said.
Nacho Mama’s management said someone climbed onto the roof and disconnected the cameras for their security system. But the only thing stolen was the firewood left out behind the business used in their cooking process.
The broken window was boarded up, and two BB gun-sized holes were in the next windowpane.
“It was all over the floor,” Woodard said. “Went across the dining room and down the hallway and across every table.”
By midday Monday , it was back to business as usual at Nacho Mama’s.
The Rock Hill Police Department is investigating the incident. A police spokesman was not available for comment.
