ST. LOUIS – A member of the board overseeing St. Louis Public Schools resigned Tuesday evening and called out her colleagues on board for their “unprofessional behavior.”
According to our news partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Sadie Weiss delivered her resignation during the board’s monthly meeting.
Weiss was elected to the Board of Education of the City of St. Louis in April 2023. The board will appoint Weiss’ successor, who will serve the rest of her term.
The Post-Dispatch cited Weiss’ dissatisfaction with the board’s inaction over tens of thousands of dollars in credit card charges made on behalf of various board members, including Board President Antionette Cousins, Shameika Henry, Tracy Hykes, and Donna Jones.
The SLPS is currently the subject of a state audit.
