MISSOURI — Southern Living announced the winners of its ninth annual “South’s Best Awards,” and one Missouri barbecue restaurant made the cut.
This year’s awards revealed the South’s best cities, cruises, beach towns, hotels, resorts, bars, seafood, and barbecue joints, according to votes submitted by Southern Living readers.
Southern Living readers named Arthur Bryant’s Barbecue in Kansas City as the best barbecue joint in Missouri.
According to the restaurant’s website, Arthur Bryant was known as the “King of Ribs,” with a unique sauce and barbecue style that attracted the likes of former Presidents Harry Truman, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama to his restaurant.
Their menu includes brisket, sliced pork, and pulled pork sandwiches alongside pork rib slabs and meat by the pound.
Southern Living also named Wright’s Barbecue in Arkansas as one of the top barbecue joints in the south.
