ST. LOUIS — The largest airline carrier at St. Louis Lambert Airport plans to cut flights later this year amid “macroeconomic uncertainty.”
The airline will reduce capacity come the second half of the year, as Southwest claims “more signs point to weaker domestic bookings this year,” according to a recent report from the airline.
In a statement to FOX 2, Southwest said the airline will make minor adjustments by flying redeyes and reducing the amount of time each aircraft is on the ground.
The cuts could impact St. Louis Lambert Airport as the airport’s largest carrier. The announcement comes after Southwest said earlier this year that they will charge for checked bags and end their open seating model.
