O’FALLON, Mo. – St. Charles County residents no longer need to commute to St. Louis to get quality healthcare.

Officials from SSM Health and St. Charles County cut the ribbon Monday on a new outpatient center in O’Fallon, Missouri.

“People that were living and working in this community, we needed to bring a place together where they can get care all in the same area,” Jeremy Fotheringham, the regional president of academic ministries for SSM Health in St. Louis and St. Charles, said.

It’s the first time SSM Health is combining the services of Cardinal Glennon Pediatrics and the SSM Health Medical Group.

SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Ministry President Jake Brooks says any patient of any age will be able to get the help they need.

“We have a fully functioning lab, retail pharmacy, imaging services, and then in the pediatric floor, the second floor, has primary care,” Brooks said.

Here, patients can also get psychiatry, dermatology, and even weight loss help.
Fotheringham says this hospital perfectly reflects the attitude of the five sisters who came to St. Louis from Germany.

“They recognized a growing community, a growing need, and were happy to provide incredible healthcare resources to all the people that live, work, and play here,” Fotheringham said.

The brand-new facility is opening in one of the fastest growing counties in the state of Missouri.

The St. Charles County population is already over 400,000 people, and O’Fallon’s population is approaching 100,000 people.

“We were just excited to put something together where everybody could receive care,” Fotheringham said.

The hospital will open for business on Oct. 21.
