ST. LOUIS – Shy Pullen is a music lover who creates hyperpop under the name, “Slime Moneytrees.”
Last month, she was leaving a rave in St. Charles County and was attacked while walking alone to her car.
“This guy just starts stabbing me out of nowhere,” she said.
Pullen later learned the man police arrested was someone she had known for years.
“I’ve hung out with him so many times, all these years, and he’s never showed any signs of any animosity toward me,” she said.
Court documents indicate surveillance video captured the attack. Pullen said friends ran to pull the attacker away. The man left the scene but was soon arrested, according to police.
St. Louis resident John Walker is now charged with armed criminal action and assault in the first degree.
“It just changed my whole outlook on life,” Pullen said.
Court documents indicate Walker alleges he was Pullen’s sex slave and was going to solve things or shoot up a school. Pullen said the allegation against her is bizarre and not true.
She is instead focusing her energy on a new all-girl rave scene with an emphasis on safety.
“We’re going to have a buddy system at all my raves to have people designated to walk people to their cars,” Pullen said.
She feels fortunate her injuries were not life-threatening.
“There’s a reason why I survived that night,” Pullen said.
She wants others to know she’s been attending raves for years without any problems. Pullen believes being mindful of safety is a good idea anywhere.
“The whole rave community is about peace love unity and respect,” Pullen said.
Walker is scheduled to appear in court for a bond reduction hearing on Wednesday.
