ST. LOUIS – Valentine’s Day is a little over two weeks away, and for the single or jilted, the day can serve as a frustrating reminder of lost or unrequited love or affection.

Sometimes the best way to move on is to seek closure, such as clearing out your home of any keepsakes, pictures, or gifts that spark a memory of that person. But closure can come in all sorts of ways. And the St. Louis Aquarium can provide a unique opportunity to say so long and goodnight to your ex.

The aquarium’s Love Bites fundraiser allows you to name a superworm, cricket, or veggie after your ex and have it fed to one of the animals for a $10, $15, or $25 donation. The fundraiser supports conservation and education programs at the St. Louis Aquarium Foundation.

Donors will receive a digital Valentine’s Day card showing your support for the fundraiser and, more importantly, a video of your namesake pest being eaten!
