ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Cardinals brought back football glory as they welcomed players from the ‘Greatest Show on Turf’ to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the team’s Super Bowl win.

The Greatest Show on Turf was the St. Louis Rams team that won the franchise’s first championship in the 1999-2000 NFL season against the Tennessee Titans. The reunion took place at Busch Stadium through a pre-game ceremony before the Cardinals 6-5 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday afternoon.

The ceremony featured 18 players from the former team, including wide receivers Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, and running back Marshall Faulk, who threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

According to Bleacher Report, the Greatest Show on Turf were one of the greatest teams in NFL history, ranking first in total yards, points scored, and point differential of 284 points. Defensively, the team ranked sixth in yards allowed and fourth in points.

In the Super Bowl, Kurt Warner won MVP honors after throwing for 414 passing, a Super Bowl record at the time. The win was notoriously capped off by a game-winning tackle at the one-yard line by linebacker Mike Jones as time expired.

Although St. Louis no longer has an NFL team, the city still continues to support its previous Super Bowl-winning team and the St. Louis natives that are actively making a name for themselves in other cities.
