ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A suspected carjacker is in custody and awaiting transfer to St. Louis County to face charges.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department’s probable cause statement, the carjacking took place on Sunday, Jan. 26. The statement did not provide a time or location.

Police said Corhan McQueen (age not provided) approached a woman sitting in a parked 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 and demanded she surrender the vehicle. The woman refused and a struggle ensued.

McQueen, who was armed, allegedly fired a shot at the ground, prompting the victim to give up the car, police said.

McQueen was taken into custody on the afternoon of Thursday, Jan. 23, in St. Louis City.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged McQueen with vehicle hijacking and armed criminal action.

McQueen will be held on a $250,000 cash-only bond once he’s transferred to the St. Louis County Jail.
