ST. LOUIS – A beloved St. Louis deli has won the hearts and delighted the taste buds of one group of food writers nationwide, earning the title of LoveFood.com’s “most fantastic” restaurant in the United States.

A research team at LoveFood.com recently released a list that named “the best of the best American restaurants,” selecting one standout from each state. Missouri’s top choice, a St. Louis eatery, was ranked the best among all 50 state winners with a unique distinction of LoveFood.com’s “most fantastic” restaurant.

State choices and rankings were based on reviews, awards, accolades and first-hand experiences of their food-writing team.

According to LoveFood.com, the “most fantastic” restaurant in the United States was none other than Blues City Deli.

Serving the St. Louis community since 2004, Blues City Deli is located at 2438 McNair Avenue in the Benton Park neighborhood. Customers can visit during common lunch hours from Monday to Saturday and enjoy many tributes to the blues music genre.

Blues City Deli offers more than two dozen hearty sandwiches, most commonly to Po-Boy and Muffletta style.

LoveFood.com offer the following review of Blues City Deli:

“Blues City Kitchen is a friendly joint specializing in po’ boys, muffulettas, and pastrami sandwiches. With a menu full of dishes that nod to cities along the Blues Highway – the club sandwich from New York, and muffuletta from New Orleans – diners are guaranteed a bluesy soundtrack to eat their sammies to. Complete your meal with a loaded potato salad filled with bacon, sour cream, and chives, plus an old-fashioned soda to wash it all down.”

Blues City Deli was also praised as Yelp’s best restaurant in the Midwest last year.
