ST. LOUIS – Following his first NBA Finals victory and his invitation to play for Team USA in the Olympics, St. Louis native Jayson Tatum is adding another achievement to his résumé.

Tatum will be featured on the cover of the video game NBA 2K25.

The five-time All-Star will appear on the Standard Edition of the video game and the All-Star Edition, alongside WNA star A’ja Wilson. NBA legend Vince Carter will be featured on the Hall-of-Fame edition of the game.

“It’s an honor to be named a cover athlete for NBA 2K25,” said Tatum via a 2K Newsroom news release. “I’ve been playing NBA 2K since I was a kid and it’s been a dream to one day be on the cover. Even after coming off an NBA Championship, it’s humbling to see this come to life.”

The announcement comes after Tatum signed a 5-year, $314 million supermax extension with the Boston Celtics in June. According to ESPN, Tatum averaged 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists and shot 47% from the field this past season.

Tatum, a St. Louis native, attended Chaminade College Preparatory School in Creve Coeur and wrapped up his high school hoops career with a state title in 2016.

Tatum is the first player from St. Louis to ever appear on the cover of NBA 2K and the fourth Boston Celtics player, joining Kyrie Irving (NBA 2K18), Larry Bird (NBA 2K12) and Kevin Garnett (NBA 2K9).
