ST. LOUIS – Police stopped a man from selling fireworks in a U-Haul trailer over the weekend, a violation of St. Louis’ fireworks ordinance.

Bomb and arson investigators with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the Hyde Park neighborhood over the weekend after a report of a man selling commercial-grade fireworks from a U-Haul.

Police say it took multiple bomb and arson units to safely transport the fireworks to a secure location.

Police did not report any injuries from handling the fireworks situation. The accused man was issued a summons.

St. Louis City Ordinance 65824 prohibits people from possessing, storing or selling fireworks within the City of St. Louis. Violations could mean up to 90 days in jail or $500 in fines.
