MARYLAND HEIGHTS — The Saint Louis Post-Dispatch has reached the end of an era. Monday’s edition marked the last one printed locally, as the Maryland Heights printing press closed after 146 years of operation.

The closure impacts 48 full-time and 24 part-time employees, who must now retire or seek new jobs. This shift reflects a broader trend, as printing facilities across the U.S. shut down in response to the growing dominance of digital media.

The Post-Dispatch will now be printed in Columbia, Missouri, and delivered daily by truck to St. Louis readers.
